...ridiculously hard a lot of times. It's confusing, frustrating and tends to reveal all the selfishness that I still hold onto. The hard days of work and parenting are also, without fail, filled with moments of peace and togetherness.
In the evenings, after my children are tucked in for the night and I have some moments to reflect on the day, my parenting failures become overwhelmingly obvious. I make mental and sometimes literal notes of the ways I was triggered and what I need to do to improve. I mentally prepare for the next day of motherhood and do my best to appreciate all the wonderful moments throughout the day that I did experience with my family.
